Life Legacy
Donald Lee Buffenbarger, Springfield, 76, passed away December 28, 2011. Born May 23, 1935, in Springfield, Don graduated from Senior High School in 1953. Don retired from KY3 after 35 years of service.
First and foremost, Don had a love for family and friends. He loved hunting, fishing, reading, painting, was an avid outdoorsman and just enjoyed being outside. His workshop was his sanctuary, where he made guns, knives, powder horns, and reloading.
Don is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Rose (Jackson) Buffenbarger; two sons, Robert Joe and William Dudley Buffenbarger; one brother; and five sisters.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Shirley; daughters, Carol Buffenbarger and husband John Rogers, Mara Teeslink and husband Doug; a son, Daniel and wife Teresa; five grandchildren, Shawn Triplett and wife Kim, Alyse Teeslink, Chris Rogers, Andrew Buffenbarger, and John Buffenbarger; two great-grandchildren, Aiden Triplett and LeeLand Teeslink; and one brother, Leonard 'Bub' Hutchison.
Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 pm, Monday, January 2, 2012 in Walnut Lawn Funeral Home Funeral with funeral services at 2:00 pm.
