After decades of caring for your loved ones, and long-time pet owners themselves, the Wood-Humiston family of Walnut Lawn Funeral Home, Ltd. – DeGraffenreid-Wood-Crematory is pleased to announce their expansion to include caring for your pet family members in their newly established Cherished Pets Funeral Home and Crematory, LLC.
This one-of-a-kind PET funeral home and crematory for Springfield and the surrounding area, is breaking ground in 2023, with an expected opening date in 2024. Cherished Pets Funeral Home and Crematory, LLC will be a separate facility at 2021 West Walnut Lawn Street, Springfield, MO, directly west of Walnut Lawn Funeral Home.
Cherished Pets Funeral Home and Crematory will offer everything to remember your cherished pets in this dedicated facility, to remember and care for them in a dignified and respectable way.
Our Pets
Cherished Pets Funeral Home and Crematory will offer burial and cremation services for pets that will include:
- Memorial and funeral service packages
- Pet tracking program for owners to know where their pets are at all stages
- Onsite chapel and private visitation rooms
- Prayer/meditation garden within the interior of the facility
- Reception area
- Burial at any cemetery of choice that allows pet burials, or on the owner’s property
- Cremation viewing rooms
- Private cremations in our state-of-the-art, specially-designed American Crematory
- Paperless authorization and payment system
- Merchandise including a display room with urns, caskets, jewelry, and keepsakes
- More services are in the development stages.
At Cherished Pets Funeral Home and Crematory, we are unique in the Springfield and surrounding area to already have on staff an NFDA-certified crematory operator and Missouri-licensed funeral director.
We are members of two prestigious pet aftercare associations with high ideals and ethics: IAOPPC (International Association of Pet Cemeteries and Crematories) and the ICCFA/PLPA (International Cemetery, Cremation, and Funeral Association/Pet Loss Professionals Alliance).
